Storyboarding

I wanted my storyboards to be simple and easy to read as a viewer. The narrative I created was to follow the character in the scene since we only get a glimpse of the fortune teller from behind in the concept art it doesn’t leave a lasting impression or give any sense of her identity and I wanted to show a glimpse of her through my storyboards.

The first frame is an opening shot from the perspective of the lantern giving an outline of this mysterious character in the distance.

Frame 1

The second frame is a closer view at ground level as we were previously higher up, this way the camera gradually pans down to her in the shot.

Frame 2

The third frame is an over the shoulder shot of only her hair and hand bent below the glowing orb as it floats just above the palm casting a light around the darkness.

Frame 3

The fourth frame unveils the mystery as all along it was built up to reveal the character itself and is a front view of the fortune teller as she casts a spell with her eyes closed, deep in thought.

Frame 4

The fifth and final frame is a close up of her face where we can see her eyes have flown open and the iris glows as bright as the orb, with no pupil in sight leaving the impression she is far from an ordinary human.

Frame 5
